    All About Julie...

Julie Pyle is an artist and retired art educator whose life and work are deeply rooted in creativity, nature, and family. Splitting her time between Prior Lake, Minnesota, and the serene beauty of Stone Lake, Wisconsin, Julie finds endless inspiration in the landscapes and quiet rhythms of the Northwoods. Her primary studio—Lab and Beagle Studio—is nestled at her Stone Lake home, where she now devotes her days to creating art surrounded by the environment she loves.

With an impressive 43-year career teaching elementary and middle school art, Julie has guided generations of young artists through the joy of creative discovery. Her passion for teaching came naturally; she has always embraced a wide range of artistic mediums and delighted in “doing it all.” While watercolor and clay remain her favorite forms of expression, she also explores jewelry making, mixed media, and pastels, allowing her curiosity and love of experimentation to shape her artistic journey.

Julie’s work often reflects the themes closest to her heart—nature’s quiet beauty, the warmth of family, and the simple magic found in everyday moments. These influences weave through her paintings and handcrafted pieces, giving her art a sense of authenticity and personal connection.

Her studio companions, Vinnie (Vincent Van Gogh), a spirited black lab, and Andy (Andy Warhol), a lively Beagle mix, bring humor and joy to her creative space. Their presence inspired the name “Lab and Beagle Studio,” a playful nod to the artists they’re named after and the creative energy they bring to Julie’s daily life.

Today, Julie continues to explore, create, and share her love of art from her lakeside studio—celebrating a lifelong devotion to creativity and the natural world that surrounds her.
