“Scenes From The Heartland” is the current art show at the Park Center in Hayward featuring pastel paintings by artist Catherine Sebek. This venue, located at 15791 US State Highway 63, is open during events throughout the month.
“I am drawn to the open vistas of farmland, the endless sky above the undulating fields of row crops. The farm buildings have such character, they tell a story all on their own. We live in an area known for its woods and water, but a good part of it is rural farmland and that is the part I wanted to highlight.”
“I have been painting for over 30 years, and as a landscape painter, I want there to be an excitement about the richness of the colors, the play of light on the landscape, along with a familiarity of place that creates a sense of peace for the viewer.”
“Scenes From The Heartland” will be up through December.
On Thursday, May 12th, thirty people gathered at Art Market 63 to paint wine glasses for the 2016 “A Toast to Art”.
The decorated glasses will be sold at the annual event for $15, which includes wine refills. Tickets are available at Art Beat, Redbery Books, and Art Market 63 or may be purchased via PayPal or Charge Card by visiting the Annual Event tab. http://www.cablehaywardarts.org/events/annual-event/
