Catherine Sebek – Hayward, WI | Painting/Drawing

Born in the Midwest, I have resided in Hayward, WI most of my life.  In 1985 I opened by studio, creating stained glass, fused glass, mosaic glass and mixed media pieces.  Creating harmony with color, line, and light is what I strive for with my glass creations.

I have been painting for over 30 years and inspiration for my pastel paintings comes from the area in northern Wisconsin where I reside.  As a landscape painter, I want there to be an excitement about the richness of the colors, the play of light on the landscape, along with a familiarity of place that creates a sense of peace for the viewer.

In recent years I have been combining words printed with a 1900’s Chandler & Price letterpress and linoleum block images to express my reflections on the natural world around me.  

I have a line of letterpress cards, and a line of collaged pastel print cards.
